As Maysville and Mason County make comprehensive plans for the future, those plans must consider that the share of the population that is 65 and older increased from 13.9% in 1981 to 19% in 2021.
Our smaller percentage of 20 to 49-year-olds in a smaller population requires new approaches to fund the community services, infrastructure, and cultural activities citizens expect in the twenty-first century.
